[Posted 08/03/2018]AUDIENCE: Patient, Health Professional, Oncology ISSUE: The antibiotic azithromycin (Zithromax, Zmax) should not be given long-term to prevent a certain inflammatory lung condition in patients with cancers of the blood or lymph nodes who undergo a donor stem cell transplant. Results of a clinical trial found an increased rate of relapse in cancers affecting the blood and lymph nodes, including death, in these patients. We are reviewing additional data and will communicate our conclusions and recommendations when our review is complete. BACKGROUND: The serious lung condition for which long-term azithromycin was being studied called bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome is caused by inflammation and scarring in the airways of the lungs, resulting in severe shortness of breath and dry cough. Cancer patients who undergo stem cell transplants from donors are at risk for bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome. The manufacturer of brand name azithromycin is providing a Dear Healthcare Provider letter on this safety issue to health care professionals who care for patients undergoing donor stem cell transplants. Azithromycin is not approved for preventing bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome.

Not going to lie, I'm a little worried as to how this will affect me. Apart from that I felt slightly drowsy but nothing that was irritating. I'm prescribed a 50 mg dose and its been said to take it every night before bed. Does it make you feel "emotionless" (something I already suffer with) or does it make you suicidal? I had anxiety when I was very young which eventually subsided. I honestly know nothing about Zoloft, I'm reading up about it right now. About 6 months ago my anxiety disorder was drug induced. Could not sleep, jolted awake frequently, involuntary twitching, brain fog, dr/dp, anxiety attacks, depression, constant feelings of dread, unable to feel anything but negative emotion really. The only side effects I had was diarrhea in the beginning of the first 25mg and then again with the 50mg increase. I started with 25mg for a week then started 50mg this week. All of this while starting my junior year for engineering at a University. In time many of my symptoms faded with relief for about a week at best then back into anxiety and depression for 5-15 days. Side Effects of Zoloft Sertraline - Verywell Mind I started taking zoloft about 2 weeks ago I started on 25mg. Taking my first meds - Zoloft. What do I need to know? - reddit
